Health-content standards

Health content on LivelyReads is general education. It does not diagnose a reader, establish a personal test plan, interpret an individual's report, or replace care from a qualified professional.

The question comes before the test

We explain what a test may help evaluate and what it cannot establish alone. The sample, preparation, laboratory method, units, timing, medical history, medicines, symptoms, age, and pregnancy status can matter. Follow the instructions for the exact ordered test. Do not change medication based on an article.

Reference intervals and uncertainty

An out-of-range result is not a diagnosis, and an in-range result is not a complete guarantee of health. Use the interval and units on the actual report and discuss the findings with the appropriate healthcare professional.

Review and sensitive subjects

Articles show their sources and identify whether medical review occurred. No medical-review claim is made simply because a source is medical. Specialist, controversial, prenatal, urgent-care, oncology, or medication-monitoring interpretation requires an enhanced review decision. Articles that require qualified review remain drafts until it occurs.

Ordering and urgent care

A catalog listing does not establish suitability or consumer availability. Availability depends on the provider, location, test, and applicable rules. Online testing must not delay urgent medical evaluation. Commercial links are disabled unless their relationship, destination, and availability have been verified.
